Veneered in Mahogany this superb Brass Bound Writing box comes with flush fitting campaign side handles, three small secret drawers & a super secret document drawer hidden above the side drawer!

The interior of this large Victorian Writing Box opens to reveal a pen tray, pair of original brass screw topped inkwells, nib holder, lidded compartment and original blue leather lockable gold tooled writing surface. The other writing surface when opened also reveals more storage area and the writing box has a large side drawer which can only be accessed when the writing box is in the open position and the brass pin is removed.

Opening the writing surface near the pentray reveals storage for letters documents and where the first secret compartment can be revealed. To open it you need to remove the pin located on the left handside of the box this is used for two purposes one for keeping the side drawer from opening and the other will become clear after reading this.! Whilst the box is in the open position place the key in the lock at the front of the box and turning the key anticlockwise, so the lock is in the locked position then and only then can you put the pin down through the lock, pushing down you will feel a spring, pushing down on this then enables the secret cover to spring forward revealing three small secret drawers.

Super Cool Top Secret Compartment

To gain access to this super cool top secret compartment on this rather large brass bound writing box, you first need to remove the pin to the side drawer removing and removing the drawer completely. Again with the small writing surface open and the secret compartment with the three drawers all revealed you need to remove the small drawer nearest the large drawer compartment that you have just removed. Place your fingers inside the void where the small drawer has been removed from and squeeze the draw guide, the secret  document drawer will dropdown where you removed the large drawer into your fingers enabling you to remove it. Putting the drawer back, push it up into the void pushing up will then lock it back into position.
