Coromandel brass bound silver Vanity Box by Halstaff & Hannaford, London with brass escutcheons and ornate monogram : MBC complete with coronet.

This fabulous silver vanity box once belonged to Lady Mary Stanhope Countess Beauchamp, wife of Frederick Lygon, 6th Earl Beauchamp.

Opening the box reveals a ruched velvet backed free standing mirror, housed inside the lid. Just below this is a brass plaque which reads:
Halstaff & Hannaford 228. Regent Street.

The countesses box contains twelve engraved silver lid glass jars or various shapes and sizes, each bearing the countess of beauchamps coronet & initials by London Silversmiths "Williamson & Horton dated 1867". In the center is a velvet lined tool pad complete with tweezers, scissors, pen knife, nail file and retractable pen with a semi precious purple stone.
