Description

Large Anglo Indian box made from solid teak, inlaid with intricate foliate Ivory with a Ebony & Ivory chequered bandings around the sides with brass strapped reinforced corners.


Probably Hoshiarpur District, Northern India.


The interior of this Colonial box has several compartments including a mirror in the lid between two inlaid letter holders, a tamber drawer to the right, single drawer in the base of the box, a covered lift up panel on the left and a four holed compartment possibly for perfumes.
