Victorian writing box with secret drawers, veneered in good figured walnut with brass straps and ebonised egding.

The interior of this Writing Box / Lapdesk opens to reveal a pen tray, inkwell, nib holder and a black leather with gold tooling writing surface. On opening the writing surface near the pentray reveals storage for letters documents and where the secret compartment can be revealed, to open it you pull up on the divider nearest the inkwell then the sprung cover reveals two secret drawers with bone handles. the other writing surface when opened also reveals more storage arera.

This antique writing box comes with a fully working lock, inkwell and tasselled key.
